Grande & Alta

Developed by a team of researchers led by Dr. Larry Smart, professor at Cornell’s School of Integrative Plant Science Horticulture Section Plant Breeding and Genetics Section, Grande and Alta were bred using marker-assisted selection to develop varieties that deliver higher yields, especially at lower latitudes in the U.S.

As Canada and Europe have longer days than the U.S. during the summer growing season, hemp varieties sourced from those areas typically produce smaller yields when grown in the U.S., particularly in subtropical regions like Florida, due to shorter days.

In addition to improved grain and fiber yields, Grande and Alta have undetectable levels of THC, making them fully compliant with U.S. hemp laws and regulations.
